The longest, most accurate irons in the history of Callaway's hugely popular X-Series Irons - that's the promise made as Callaway prepare to launch the new X-24 Hot Irons.
Designed to produce consistently faster ball speeds across the clubface and deliver maximum distance throughout the bag, the X-24s come complete with a new stealth PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) finish that reduces glare. They also feature Callaway's proprietary VFT (Variable Face Thickness) technology, a 360-degree undercut channel and a precise centre of gravity to create a large and effective hitting area for golfers of all abilities. The result is maximum distance while maintaining the same pinpoint accuracy, even on off-centre hits.
"The X-24 Hot Irons are the latest evolution of our award-winning X-Series Irons, which have helped make Callaway the No. 1 Irons company in the game for the last 13 consecutive years," said Dr. Alan Hocknell, Senior Vice President of Research & Development, Callaway Golf. "We recognise there are golfers looking for distance gains throughout their entire bag, and thus employed our core technologies and faster ball speeds into the design of X-24 Hot, creating a longer, more accurate set than any of their predecessors."
The newX-Hot 24 Irons have been developed by Callaway engineers for golfers seeking more distance not just with the longest clubs in their bag, but also when pulling out an iron on a long par-3 or flying the water to reach a par-5 in two.
The stealth PVD finish is the result of a cutting-edge process designed to reduce glare and produce a distinctive look that is darker than most irons.
Other Callaway core technologies have also been incorporated into the X-24 Hot Irons, working together to provide enhanced feel and total performance for a wide range of golfers:
• S2H2 (Short Straight Hollow Hosel), allowing weight to be moved lower and to the more useful perimeter area of the clubhead;
• Modified Tru-Bore, working with S2H2 and allowing the shaft tip to extend through the hosel and clubhead to the sole. This bore-through design improves feel and control by moving the tip of the shaft closer to the center of the clubface;
• Precision Notch Weighting, positioning more weight in the perimeter of the club head for stability at impact and enabling an optimal CG position for strong trajectories.
The X-24 Hot Irons will be available in 4-PAS, plus gap and sand wedge, right-hand only, with graphite or steel shafts, from July 1 2010 in Scandinavia and August 1 2010 throughout the rest of Europe.

I purchased these to have something more forgiving since I was playing Ping I3 blades. Since I don't play as often I decided to buy something that would dampen mishit. I have a personal driving range and I found that my swing fault followed me, go figure :) Anyway, my 1st round was a disaster, but it wasn't the clubs. After the disaster I practiced all week with them, along with a major revision in my setup and shot 73 in my second round with them. So, they were redeemed. One thing I've noticed is that the offset is hidden well in the design of the club. I have never cared for offset, but it's almost invisible in this club. They feel really good in my hands and the thicker sole from the Ping's now seem normal.
