The Ping Rapture V2 Irons are incredibly easy to hit and very forgiving. They have been an incredible story in the super game improvement iron category for a couple years now. For 2009, Ping outdid themselves with all the recent Rapture V2 irons which are becoming hot sales in every golf shop. Building within the solid foundation in the original Rapture irons, the V2s deliver sometimes additional forgiveness coupled with think in a smart looking package.
The Ping Rapture V2 Irons result from Ping's investment in multi-metal technology that combines the key properties of various materials to deliver a club that produces an optimal performance. The Rapture V2 iron is made up or a tungsten sole weight, a titanium face and a stainless steel body to allow for an innovative game improvement design. The lightweight titanium face allows weight to be relocated to the wider tungsten sole that positions the centre of gravity ideally for a higher launch angle and increased MOI. As a result the Ping Rapture V2 can incorporate stronger lofts to increase distance without sacrificing any control. The incorporation of a deeper Custom Tuning Port with elastomer inserts increases face stability for a solid feel and a uniform response across the whole clubface.
The 2nd Version of their popular Rapture line, Ping Rapture V2 irons, is obviously a game improvement iron and geared for the mid to higher handicap player. Ping has the mid-size and game improvement irons down pat…only thing left to master for them seems to be the club that appeals to the better player at address. For some reason they just always seem to have the look of having a little too much offset. And they are irons that you cannot miss in the golf shop.

I purchased these to have something more forgiving since I was playing Ping I3 blades. Since I don't play as often I decided to buy something that would dampen mishit. I have a personal driving range and I found that my swing fault followed me, go figure :) Anyway, my 1st round was a disaster, but it wasn't the clubs. After the disaster I practiced all week with them, along with a major revision in my setup and shot 73 in my second round with them. So, they were redeemed. One thing I've noticed is that the offset is hidden well in the design of the club. I have never cared for offset, but it's almost invisible in this club. They feel really good in my hands and the thicker sole from the Ping's now seem normal.
