The Ping Rapture V2 driver is a high-end golf driver designed to optimize a user's golf game through the method of enhancing ball speed, spin rate, and launch angle during a stroke. The Rapture V2 driver is composed of a titanium body material with tungsten skirt weights which allows a maximum forgiveness in each swing of these golf clubs. The Rapture V2 driver ensures a medium-high trajectory with low spin through the use of its deep face height design. This allows users to improve the distance of their golf shots.
The Features of the Ping Rapture V2 driver:
Slightly elongated shaped 460cc multi-material head
Slightly elongated head profile produces a driver with a higher moment of inertia resulting in straighter drives on off-center hits. The increased "footprint" also inspires more confidence over every drive.
Titanium head with external tungsten weight pads
PING engineers have utilized a titanium body and tungsten perimeter weighting to optimize the cneter of gravity location to create a high launch angle and low spin rate as well as increase the moemtn of inertia resulting in longer and straighter drives.
Thin crown design technology
Low stress areas are "thinned" resulting in additional discretionary weight that is redistributed into the tungsten perimeter weighting helping to optimize launch and spin along with increasing the moment of inertia
Head designed for powerful sound
The multi-material head design is fine tuned using finite element analysis (FEA). FEA is a tool that helps PING engineers optimize the head design in a virtual environment for performance, durability, feel and sound. The finished result is a driver with powerful performance and sound.
Thin, machined variable face with robotic plasma weld
Precisely machined, thin variable-thickness face leads to exceptional performance including higher ball speed. The Robotic Plasma Weld improves durability of the Ping Rapture V2 driver and saves weight, which is redistributed in the external tungsten weight pads.
New dual Rapture graphic alignment aid
New, visually appealing alignment aid on these golf clubs will inspire additional confidence in your game by making sure you are aligned squarely to your target every time.

I purchased these to have something more forgiving since I was playing Ping I3 blades. Since I don't play as often I decided to buy something that would dampen mishit. I have a personal driving range and I found that my swing fault followed me, go figure :) Anyway, my 1st round was a disaster, but it wasn't the clubs. After the disaster I practiced all week with them, along with a major revision in my setup and shot 73 in my second round with them. So, they were redeemed. One thing I've noticed is that the offset is hidden well in the design of the club. I have never cared for offset, but it's almost invisible in this club. They feel really good in my hands and the thicker sole from the Ping's now seem normal.
