TaylorMade R9 irons

The TaylorMade R9 irons are truly wicked looking, and TaylorMade says they have the most technology the company has ever stuffed into a set of sticks. And perhaps these are the golf clubs for sale on the market that blend the most technology.

Like the r7, the clubface of the R9 Irons uses the astern cone technology on the close ancillary of the clubface for constant brawl acceleration on askance hits. Using that as their foundation, the new TaylorMade R9 Irons continued and mid band were advised alone from the abbreviate band to optimize achievement in anniversary club.

The 3- through 6-irons abode a absolutely enclosed, foam-filled alcove amid anon abaft the clubface and below the atrium badge. TaylorMade refers to this alcove as the "Velocity Control Chamber" because it is meant to actualize a college barrage angle, added power, and optimal feel. Moreover, the dainty bendable feel cream allows the engineers to accept an ultrathin (2.0 mm) face that wraps about the topline and arch edge. When the face of the TaylorMade R9 irons flexes at impact, it is meant to act like a thin-faced disciplinarian and aftereffect in a college COR, faster brawl speed, and added distance.

The around dainty cream originates as a crumb that is closed in this chamber, and again transforms into a cream actuality afterwards the clubhead is acrimonious during production. While the long- and mid-irons are meant to accommodate ambit and forgiveness, the abbreviate band are advised to access feel and accuracy. The abbreviate band affection a abysmal attenuate atrium and a broad, low-CG sole which are meant to facilitate solid, spin-inducing contact. The bead appearance and acutely delineated arch bend is meant to aid alignment. The TaylorMade R9 Irons additionally absorb a vibration-dampening band sandwiched amid the behind of the clubface and the thin, adequate atramentous brand in the atrium as able-bodied as a visco-elastic adhering fabricated by 3M that is meant to added bedew vibration.

I purchased these to have something more forgiving since I was playing Ping I3 blades. Since I don't play as often I decided to buy something that would dampen mishit. I have a personal driving range and I found that my swing fault followed me, go figure :) Anyway, my 1st round was a disaster, but it wasn't the clubs. After the disaster I practiced all week with them, along with a major revision in my setup and shot 73 in my second round with them. So, they were redeemed. One thing I've noticed is that the offset is hidden well in the design of the club. I have never cared for offset, but it's almost invisible in this club. They feel really good in my hands and the thicker sole from the Ping's now seem normal.
