TaylorMade R9 driver

TaylorMade is a pioneer in golf club adjustability when it introduced its r7 quad driver in 2004. Before the TaylorMade R9 driver, the r7 quad had incorporated TaylorMade's Movable Weight Technology(MWT), which gave golfers the ability to change the clubhead's center of gravity to promote different ball flights.

This driver truly is a new revolution in the golf driver category. The R9 utilizes Taylor Made's legendary "Movable Weight Technology (MWT)" that was 1st introduced with the r7 metalwood product line. That technology allows players to change the clubs center of gravity by moving weight in different places, therefore promoting different launch conditions. Along with MWT, the TaylorMade R9 driver introduces a brand new feature, named Flight Control Technology (FCT). FCT gives the player the ability to adjust the loft, lie, and face angle of the club. This added technology with MWT makes the R9 driver virtually 24 drivers in 1. Being able to change and utilize these features truly makes the R9 driver suitable for all types of players, from touring professionals to high-handicappers.

Along with the new advancements in design, the TaylorMade R9 driver will feature the new Fujikura "Motore" shaft with High Inertia Tip (H.I.T.) Technology. This shaft will help players produce faster ball speeds and more stability on mis-hits. It is a great driver that has lived up to it's fanfare.

I purchased these to have something more forgiving since I was playing Ping I3 blades. Since I don't play as often I decided to buy something that would dampen mishit. I have a personal driving range and I found that my swing fault followed me, go figure :) Anyway, my 1st round was a disaster, but it wasn't the clubs. After the disaster I practiced all week with them, along with a major revision in my setup and shot 73 in my second round with them. So, they were redeemed. One thing I've noticed is that the offset is hidden well in the design of the club. I have never cared for offset, but it's almost invisible in this club. They feel really good in my hands and the thicker sole from the Ping's now seem normal.
