Is Golf too Difficult for Beginners

Friday, February 25th, 2011

I just wanted to do a quick post on some thing that I was thinking about this morning. Is golf too challenging and inaccessible to the majority of individuals who may consider taking up the sport? What I mean is that with the cost of clubs, greens fees, range balls, etc. continuously increasing, the golf courses and golf businesses are nearly making it impossible for people of average means to get involved in the sport.

Golf isn’t supposed to be a game reserved only for the rich. Combine that with how difficult the game really is, and it is a lose/lose mixture for newcomers to the game. My feeling is that most new golfers don’t have the time, patience, dedication or funds to truly embrace the sport with callaway x-24 irons or other clubs. I know that not everyone is going to begin playing at age 3 and dedicate their lives to the game. But is “Golf”, just too imposing of a sport now that the game itself scares off those that might be interested int taking up the game?

Should the major golf manufacturers cost entry level golf clubs so just about anybody could afford a set?

Are golf courses only catering to the much better players..who’ve plenty of cash?

Should there be courses that are shorter, with bigger holes (cups) so beginners can discover the basics without being demoralized at how penal a normal, full sized course can be?

Playing devils’ advocate, do we truly want a bunch much more newbies available on the public courses with , hacking away, generating the average weekend round 6+ hours?

Not sure of the correct answers to these questions, or if they’re even legitimate questions at all. I’m curious to hear your take on this?

Do you try anything as discount golf clubs?

Day Two Full Of More Surprises

Friday, February 25th, 2011

In a Match Play Championship having a youthful complexion, Rickie Fowler was dressed in matching pink shoes and shirt when he walked onto the driving range with cheap golf clubs and past his opponent, Phil Mickelson, who looked him up and down and smiled.

“Sophia has some shoes like that,” Mickelson said, referring to his 9-year-old daughter. “She wears them to her dance class.”

Mickelson has become somewhat of a mentor to Fowler, so the kid knew what was coming.

As soon as they got onto the course, Fowler was hotter than his choice of color at Dove Mountain.

Fowler was 8-under par when their match ended on the 13th hole, a 6-and-5 win that sent Mickelson to his worst loss ever in this fickle tournament.

“I adore guys like Phil. In a way, he’s taken me under his wing a bit,” Fowler said. “I love watching him play callaway x-24 hot irons. I love playing with him. And clearly, it was huge for me going available and obtaining the job carried out these days.”

Fowler was 5 under over the last four holes, which included a chip-in for birdie from behind the 10th green along with a pair of eagles, the last one having a 4-iron from 232 yards that landed just beyond a ridge and rolled so close that Mickelson conceded the putt.

“He does not really have a weakness,” Mickelson said. “He truly is a total player, and he put it together today.”

Fowler had lots of company.

Equally impressive was Italy’s teen sensation, 17-year-old Matteo Manassero, who hit a 6-iron to four feet on the 17th hole and closed out Charl Schwartzel of South Africa to advance. Jason Day, a 23-year-old Australian, played like a veteran of match play the way he toyed with Paul Casey in a 4-and-2 victory.

Of the final 16 players left at the Accenture Match Play Championship, eight are under 30.

That includes Nick Watney, who steadied his emotions over the last 3 holes to knock out top-ranked Lee Westwood — the third straight year the No. 1 seed did not make it out of the second round. The highest seed remaining following two wild days was PGA champion Martin Kaymer, the 25-year-old “Germanator” who had to go 20 holes to beat Justin Rose.

It hasn’t been a bad week for the Americans at this World Golf Championship. They’ve eight players within the round of 16, probably the most in five years. The surprise is the list of players.

Tiger Woods, Steve Stricker and Jim Furyk had been gone after the first round. Mickelson joined them on Thursday.

Leading the way is a new cast of emerging stars, from Fowler and Watney, to Hunter Mahan, who won 3 of the last five holes to rally against Robert Karlsson.

But this youth movement is not about the Americans.

Manassero keeps setting age records wherever he goes — the youngest to win the British Amateur with best golf clubs, the youngest to be low amateur at the British Open and the Masters, the youngest to win on the European Tour.

War is Over Let us Play Golf

Friday, February 25th, 2011

On this day in 1945, a grateful Britain, still partying at the end of the WWII like it was an extended hen-night, heard the crackly news announced from Royal and Ancient HQ in St Andrews that ‘normal golf service shall resume’.

This meant that the Open Championships, cancelled from 1940-45 due to the war, could be played at St Andrews again the next summer (won by Sam Snead), and where it had last been played in 1939, won by Richard Burton (not the actor). Touchingly, within the spring of 1946, Burton wrote to the R&A, ‘Dear Sirs, Please find enclosed my fee of five guineas for this year’s Open. I will bring the trophy back with discount golf clubs when I come.’

It was the end of an era in 1975 these days for Spain’s Generalissimo Franco, whose dictatorship ended after 36 years with Prince Carlos taking charge. In 1982, Aussie mum Lindy Chamberlain of ‘the dingo ate my baby’ fame went down for the murder of her 9-week-old daughter, giving Meryl Streep another chance perhaps her most truly annoying acting turn with Callaway FT-iZ Driver.

And it’s Suba Upan Dinayak Vewa! as spin-master Muttiah Muralitharan might say, to English Test cricket captain and Michael Vaughan OBE (b.1974), stealing celeb Winona Ryder (b.1971), the amazingly-hot Yasmin Le Bon (b.1964), annoying American idol judge, Randy Jackson (b.1961) and sublimely talented ice hockey phenom, Eric Staal (b.1984).

With This GalleryIt sounded just like a great idea when we left of the golf clubs store; a compelling gallery of golfing antics involving a dolphin, a few elephants, a flock of sheep along with a very unhappy-looking donkey. We got our doubts too, in all honesty. But follow through lot out!

TaylorMade R9 irons

A winner at the The game of golf Europe product awards, last autumn, R9 irons caught the judges eye for its novel Velocity Control Chamber: a fully enclosed compartment positioned behind the clubface that allows a large region of the thin face to exist unsupported.

It’s a novel attempt to increase distance by growing the flexibility of the face (especially in the lengthy TaylorMade R9 iron where the face is thinner) and hence the COR – which can be not subject to the exact same regulations as drivers.

The chamber is moreover filled having a heat-treated proprietary foam and backed having a distinctive silicone insert for an exceptional feeling, high-launching iron.

The R9 of discount golf clubs combines traditional looks and game improvement functions like a deep undercut cavity, heel toe weighting and a beveled sole to reduce turf resistance. Anticipate a price tag for eight pieces fitted with KBS steel or Fujikura Motore graphite shaft. There is as well an R9TP version already a hit on tour, with Sergio Garcia, Retief Goosen and Paula Creamer amongst those to make the immediate switch to a set which as well has a forgiving 2- iron choice.

Mizuno MP-58 irons

As mentioned in our Planet Golf report on the Orlando PGA Show, Mizuno’s Shaft Optimiser gets our vote for probably the most practical new golf club fitting initiative of 2010 (so far) for the way it thus efficiently suggests appropriate shafts for you to attempt, based on your personal ’swing DNA’.

Enjoy Tiger Woods Mad

Thursday, February 24th, 2011

I would like to say that Tiger Woods is the best golf player that I have seen; I enjoy everything of Tiger Woods, though now he is experiencing a tough time after Tiger Woods divorce, and I also enjoy the golf genius getting mad on the golf course. Of course, you may say that I am crazy. It is necessary for golf players to control their feeling on the golf course, but I still like to say if it doesn’t matter, why control it?

This is a good question. When golf players, no matter the golf professional or the common golf players, plays extremely well on the golf course with Callaway FT i-Brid Irons or other clubs, it is necessary for them getting excited. As for Tiger Woods, every time he can be mad when he realized that he got good performance with his discount golf equipment at driving range.

I often love to see his faithful golf caddie, Steve, throughout these moments. He does not say a word. He goes on his business, getting everything done for the next golf shot. He does not attempt to cheer Tiger Woods up or make any editorial comments. He just understands that Tiger will refocus on his golf game.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful for having such a good soul mates understood the identical point about you? There is no need for him to have every golf hole very well, enjoy the game with the Callaway FT-i Squareway Wood, is the most important. It can take self-control to retrain your self for being mad, certainly mad after it permits it to go. “I cannot permit it go, I just get mad after I remain stuck there.

TaylorMade Burner SuperFast TP Driver

Thursday, February 24th, 2011

The same idea will apply for the U.S. Women’s Open in the future, said Davis, although the USGA is holding off allocating more spots to players off the Rolex Women’s Rankings in the short term.

The Tour Preferred model has a slightly more open and shallower face than the standard SuperFast, and it also features a heavier Tour Velvet grip. Still, the TaylorMade Burner SuperFast TP Driver is one of the fleetest drivers in TaylorMade’s arsenal, thanks to a longer than normal shaft (46 inches) and an aggressively shaped clubhead design. The curved crown around the front and heel of the club helps reduce drag, increasing clubhead speed by up to 2 mph over the ‘09 Burner TP.

“We are not quite ready to do so at this time,” Davis said, “and believe that the ranking system, which is currently going through some evaluation and improvement, will be a very solid indicator of the best women players in the world in the next year or two. The men’s world ranking existed for some 10 years before the USGA adopted them for the U.S. Open so a delay for us to get totally comfortable with the system is not unprecedented.”

CG15 Oil Quench Wedge Can Get Much More Spin

Thursday, February 24th, 2011

The golfer who is farthest from the hole always putts first, right? I say no, never in four-ball matchplay when you and your partner both are putting for birdie. That’s when you need a different approach.

The new Laser Milled method perfected with the Cleveland CG15 Oil Quench wedge provides a more precise and consistent surface roughness than any of the alternative methods on the markets. This means that the CG15 grooves are able to get much more spin than any previous Cleveland wedge.

His game is coming along. No doubt. He’s glad to be back. It’s been a couple of years. His game was exposed in the wind in Dubai. He likes match play. Incorporating new movements takes time. He’s looking forward to winning golf tournaments again.

Just before Woods arrived, Matt Kuchar pulled up in a plain, white transportation van from the Ritz-Carlton up the hill. “Wrong guy, huh?” Kuchar said as he strolled past the semi-circle of video recorders staked out on tripods to bake in the desert sun.

Golfers will notice that this means the CG15 is much more consistent and that difference between different lofts is much less pronounced than on other wedges. The Cleveland CG15 wedge ZIP Grooves features a 25% larger groove volume than with conventional grooves and work to channel as much debris as possible out of the groove at impact. This improves contact and again helps to optimise the spin levels achieved.

A year later, in virtually that same spot, a grounds crew of three set the world land speed record for erecting a dais from which Woods could re-enter the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship with a few words about, well, nothing in particular.

If my partner is six feet from the hole and I’m 10 feet away, I like to see my partner putt first. He’ll really bear down and try to make it, because you haven’t made the birdie just yet, but on the other hand he’ll feel a little more relaxed knowing you’re there with a decent chance of canning your 10-footer in case he misses.

Cosmetic Surgery For Your Golf Mind

Thursday, February 24th, 2011

What does cosmetic surgery and golf have in common? This may seem to be a strange question because at first these two things are so totally different. But there are aspects of golf mentality which align with the emotional links to cosmetic surgery.

If you look at why people seek cosmetic surgery it is because they want to look better. This is the obvious reason. But underlying that, they would like to feel more accepted, attractive and confident. These are the real reasons why they go to the severe lengths of invasive surgery. For some people their surgery provides this result, but not for all. Sometimes all that is achieved is their superficial goal and not the real results which they so crave.

In golf, you frequently hear people passing comment about the look of another person’s swing, or their own. Golfers find themselves thinking that so and so’s swing is a beautiful sight; that it is so rhythmic, compact, elegant, etc, etc. Golfers also comment on another golfer “keeping his head down” or remaining still. And then these same golfers go away and try to make their swing or their body look like that other person’s.

Golfer’s buy endless gear and have loads of lessons and trying to achieve a particular “look” is one part of their focus. It is very easy to get carried away by the look of a golf swing and forget that the ultimate goal is to get the job done; to get the ball into the hole in as few strokes as possible. What does the look of your swing actually have to do with this goal?

Like cosmetic surgery, a beautiful swing does not always provide you with the confidence that you crave. And success in golf, as in everything in life, is dependent on that particular ingredient – confidence. Yes, there are certain basics within a swing which are going to make it easier to hit the ball square and along the right swing path. But an ugly swing can in fact work just as effectively, if not more so.

Having confidence in an ugly swing is going to get the job done far more effectively than a beautiful swing or so called ideal technique in which you have little or no confidence.

A Brief On Buying Used Golf Carts

Thursday, February 24th, 2011

Used Golf carts are always available in the market nowadays. It is due to the arrival of new models and variants that the golf players and golf course authorities keep upgrading to new models. It is always economical to buy a used Golf cart instead of a brand new one. But there are some factors that you have to keep in mind while you buy a used Golf cart.

The main factor is the age of the Golf cart. When you purchase a cart from the used car retailer, they often refurbish the cart and make it look brand new. But you have to make sure how old the cart is. Very old carts are prone to more maintenance and lack of performance. So a lot of money can be spent for that.

Check out the modifications done to the cart. Always go for the best seating, upholstery, headlights, custom paints and other features that are worth the purchase. By this way you can save a lot of money.

Golf carts are also sold under the tag “as is”. These are used golf carts sold by the retailer without doing any refurbishment of modification. They are usually cheaper than the other used carts and you might have to do the necessary repairs and maintenance work after purchasing it.

Always make sure to purchase a used cart from reputed dealers. Dealers already in this field for several years are the recommended. They sell the cart without cheating the customers. They also offer warranty to certain models. Even though their price may seem to be higher than the “just into the field” dealers, reliability is the assurance we get from them.

Make sure to test drive the vehicle before choosing it. Drive at a location where there are steep slopes and curves to check out the maximum performance of the cart. Fully load the vehicle and drive it to check whether the cart has enough pulling power.

The price of a used cart can vary between $2000 and $6000. Some can be of even higher price tag considering factors like modification and the age of the cart.

After Tiger Woods Divorce

Thursday, February 24th, 2011

The Valentine’s Day is far away from us, for that Valentine’s Day. What Tiger Woods did in this Valentine’s Day after Tiger Woods Divorce? Tiger Woods was not destined to be comfortable. According to “National Enquirer” reported, Irene, who is the former wife of Tiger, was suspected pregnant, if Woods knew the news, I do not know what he would do to decrease his jealousy, and how could he take his discount golf equipment that now can buy from golfstore365.com to play the golf game.

Irene divorced with Tiger Woods last August, and soon she had date with her college classmate, media showed the photographs of Iren and her new lover, Woods can not bear any more, he entered the Irene house to snoop the privacy of Irene’s new life, which made Iren very angry.

Soon, the media also reported that Irene broke up with her new lover, and this reason is for Tiger Woods. It is said that this South African received intimidation from Woods, which caused him to have to leave Irene, Irene expressed great indignation at this, “We have divorced, it is over, why not let me peace!” She also said that she was not care about who can swing perfect, she just wanted to get peaceful life.

Valentine’s Day is over, Woods and Irene are single after Tiger Woods divorce, for Irene, what she wants to get is the peaceful life, she hopes that Tiger Woods can concentrate on his golf game, not her private life.

Now, it is time for Tiger Woods saying goodbye to the past life, TaylorMade Burner SuperLaunch Rescue Test From Expert now, why not Tiger make use of this chance to get more excellet performance.

TaylorMade Burner SuperFast TP Driver Is Very Good

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011

I dare to say, thе players whο have put Burner SuperFast TP іn play hаνе done ѕο mostly becuse they’re getting more ball speed аnd distance wіth іt.

Kim’s round was similar to Wie’s. Her one-shot lead to begin the day was gone by the fifth hole with her third straight bogey, but she closed with birdies on three of her last four holes to remain in contention.

“I just had a really rough start, like yesterday,” Kim said. “I had the same mindset through all 18, very relaxed. I didn’t really do that very well on the front nine. I tried to play smart on the back, dropped some putts with a lot of break. I feel much better on the back nine.”

The inner side of the clubface incorporates TaylorMade’s renowned Inverted Cone Technology, which promotes faster ball speed on off-center hits. The left handed Burner SuperFast TP driver also incorporates TaylorMade’s proven Dual-Crown technology, which both lowers and pulls back the center of gravity to promote a higher launch angle and less spin. Introduced in the TaylorMade Tour Burner driver two years ago, and also used in the Burner 09, Dual Crown technology is tremendously valuable.

Change The Trajectory TaylorMade R11 Driver Review

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011

Seven years ago, TaylorMade Golf introduced MWT with the revolutionary r7 quad, which gave golfers the ability to move weight to promote changes in trajectory for greater distance and accuracy. TaylorMade now has brought another revolution by releasing its new TaylorMade R11 Driver which can give golfer as much options as many as never before. You can check out those wholesale golf clubs online if you want a real good bargain.

The R11 driver is designed with a new, modern-classical club head shape intended to suit the eye of better players, while still providing forgiveness and confidence for average players. The shape is more contemporary appearance than traditional drivers, and slightly triangular to create a modern yet classical address silhouette. The triangular shape creates more inertia and a deeper back CG position for greater stability and forgiveness. At 440cc, the TaylorMade R11 Driver appears slightly (2%) larger due to its white crown color. Most golfers recognize address size relative to the size of the ball as a key confidence builder.

Odyssey White Hot XG Golf Putters

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011

The Odyssey White Hot XG golf putters product line is only one of several lines offered by the Odyssey company, but it is extensive in itself with 18 different models to choose from. These break down into two groups, the Core Models which account for 11 different putter types, and the Progressive Models, which consist of 7 types of putters with more modern shapes and design features.

All of the Odyssey White Hot XG putters are based on an advanced putter face insert technology which is designed to give a softer feel. The company states that the design was inspired by newer multi-layer golf balls which also are softer. Two different materials are used in the putter face to achieve this effect. First there is what is called an Elastometer core material which gives the putter its softer feel. On top of this is a thin outer striking surface which is a harder material. The impact zone is textured and supposedly this provides added feel, and the textured zone also surrounds and indicates the correct impact area, or sweet spot. In addition to this mixed-material insert technology, the Odyssey White Hot XG line of putters was designed to get the CG (center of gravity) of the clubs low and to the back of the club head. Accomplishing this also increases the MOI of the club which will provide some level of forgiveness if putts are not struck squarely on the sweet spot.

High Super MOI TaylorMade R11 Fairway Wood Review

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011

The Taylormade R11 fairway wood features a new aerodynamic shape that promotes faster speed for more distance. Also, the new white crown and black clubface make these golf clubs easier to align. A new classic club head shape combines super-high MOI (moment of inertia) and easy-launching CG (center of gravity) position while Fujikura Motore 70-gram shaft with High Inertia Tip.

With the addition of the Adjustable Sole Plate (ASP), the Taylormade R11 fairway wood from TaylorMade takes adjustability to the extreme. The ASP allows the player to adjust the way the club head sits at address, regardless of how the club is set up, resulting in the proper look from address according to the eye of the player. It also features Movable Weight Technology, allowing for draw-biased or neutral-biased weighting, and Adjustable Flight Technology which provides up to eight different settings that adjust the lie angle, face angle, and effective loft. These adjustments produce up to 60 yards of side-to-side trajectory change. Lastly, its new flat-white finish contrasts against the black face for improved alignment and reduces glare for improved optical acuity.
