The 2010 Crown Lager PGA National Futures Championship returns to Catalina Country Club in Batemans Bay from the 28th October to 31st October. Trainees from across the World vying for the title of Australian trainee champion.
The tournament again promises to be an enthralling battle with 2010 Rich River Champion Chris Hinves, 2010 Southern Trainee Champion Quinton Howe and 2010 Queensland Trainee Champion Paul Hayden all confirmed starters for the event.
In 2009 British trainee champion, Guy Woodman completed an impressive four-stroke victory over second-placed New South Welshman Corey Hale with a flawless final round five-under sixty-seven.
Other golfing greats to have won the Championship include Peter Lonard, Nick O’Hern and Rod Pampling all of whom now play on the US Tour.
The National Futures Championship also represents the unique possibility of a female winner. As the only national golf tournament where males and females compete side by side for the same title and prize money, players such as 2010 Queensland trainee championship runner-up Katelyn Must, and Mollymook Golf Club trainee Samantha Whittle are all a realistic chance to challenge for the championship.

With the club sure to once again present magnificent conditions, trainees will be looking attack the picturesque course. In 2008, the Catalina Country Club course record of sixty-five was amazingly equalled four times by trainee competitors. In 2010, players will be aiming to go one-stroke better with ANZ offering $600 to the first male or female who break the course record.
The tournament again welcomes overseas competitors, with the current trainee champions from New Zealand, South Africa, and Great Britain all gaining invitations into the event.
Not only will the winner walk away with a first prize cheque of $9900, they will also secure direct entry into the Australian PGA Championship, competing against the likes of Adam Scott, Geoff Ogilvy and Stuart Appleby.
Spectators who visit Catalina Country Club of the four days of the tournament are guaranteed to be treated to excellent golf. The future of Australian tournament golf will be on hand, out to prove themselves worthy of the title of “2010 Crown Lager PGA National Futures Champion”.
